Pasta Palooza to Benefit Educational Field Trips
The CAPE middle schoolers are hosting a "Pasta Palooza" on Feb. 29 to raise money for their year-end educational field trips, and the community is invited to attend.
The special dinner program will be at the Camarillo Community Center, 1605 E. Burnley St. Dinner seatings are at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for kids (12 and under), $8 for adults, and $30 for families (2 adults plus multiple children).
Entertainment will be provided by Inna Rude Mood, a professional band that has played at halls and clubs all along the West Coast.
The dinner will also feature a Silent Auction and Cake Walk contest. The silent auction items are all donated by businesses and organizations, from gift cards at local businesses to a 4-pack VIP ticket package from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
All profits will go to the CAPE middle school for its end-of-year field trips.
The sixth graders are going on a tall ship trip to Catalina Island. They will spend two nights and three days on the ship learning about the island's history and ecology, and how to sail the ship. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity no one wants to miss!
The seventh graders end-of-year field trip is a three-day, two-night trip to the marine institute at Sea World. After taking an Amtrak train ride down to San Diego, we will get to sleep in one of the exhibit areas and learn about life science and sea creatures. This is a fun learning experience that we're all excited about!
The eighth graders get to go to Washington, D.C., for a week on a trip created and run by the Smithsonian Institute. The eighth graders are learning about American history and will get to go experience it. They can't wait to go see all the exciting places in D.C.!
CAPE is an independent public school with 350-plus students in grades K-8 located in the heart of Camarillo.

Thanks Chloe for promoting the event! It's a great way to spend time with friends and make some new ones. The entertainment will be a blast.
