Fire Department to get $20,000 for cameras
The Ventura County Fire Department has received $20,000, which it will use to buy two thermal-imaging cameras that can help find victims trapped in a fire.
The money was donated by the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. and Petra Risk Solutions.
The camera's technology allows firefighters to see through thick smoke and gases, speeding rescue efforts and making it more likely someone can be pulled alive from a fire.
The camera can also detect fires hidden in or behind walls.
The money will be presented to the Fire Department during a ceremony at noon Thursday at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa.

GREAT! Now for those four fires that the VCFD fights per year, those people can be saved! (Of course, this is assuming that they get out of their jammies and to the fire fast enough.)
