CLU student sexually assaulted, officials say
A California Lutheran University graduate student was sexually battered on the campus Wednesday, authorities said.
The woman, in her 20s, was walking to her car from a classroom about 5:50 p.m. when she was approached by a man wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and black pants, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
The man forced her against a wall on the west side of CLU's Zimmerman Music Studios building on Regents Avenue, told her he had a knife and grabbed her breast over her clothes, authorities said.
The student told the assailant she was calling 911 and began dialing on her cell phone. Authorities said the man then let her go and ran off.
The woman was not seriously injured in the attack, sheriff's Capt. Monica McGrath said.
The man is described as in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Investigators urge students and faculty to be aware of their surroundings on college campuses and walk on common, well-lighted thoroughfares after dark.
Anyone with information regarding the battery may call Thousand Oaks Police Department Investigator Jon Smith at 494-8216, or Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest.

Any way we could possibly be told whether his skin was white, brown or black? Or would that be too politically incorrect?

kathleenh54 - that's exactly the problem. In Ventura County, it seems to be too sensitive to mention if the person was hispanic, so the VC Star opts not to mention ethicity at all. The attacker could have been black, white, hispanic, asian, etc. However, due to this super-politically-correct society of ours, they won't say, and most will just assume it was a Mexican. That's what hiding the truth does - it causes mass speculation. That's why I am a strong supporter of the truth, no matter how painful it may be.
