Group serving foster children seeks help

A nonprofit organization that gives duffel bags filled with personal possessions to foster children is launching a campaign to focus attention on the cause.

The My Stuff Bags Foundation of Westlake Village announced that it is starting "National Mend a Broken Heart Month" in February. The foundation is asking groups and individuals to serve foster children by raising awareness, making donations and volunteering through local organizations. My Stuff Bags started in 1998 to address the needs of children who are placed in foster care, often with virtually no belongings. Each bag is filled with toys, toiletries, a stuffed animal, clothing and a blanket.

The organization is seeking donations of new toys as well as monetary gifts. For information, call 866-3MY-STUFF or visit http://www.mystuffbags.org.
