Man suspected of child molestation

A Thousand Oaks man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of child molestation and possession of child pornography, authorities said Friday.

Janusz Kalita, 72, was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of molesting a young boy he befriended while living next door to the boy's family in San Bernardino County, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

The alleged molestation spanned six years, from the time the boy was 8 until he was 14, sheriff's Detective Greg Tougas said.

The alleged abuse began in San Bernardino County and continued when the boy visited Kalita in Thousand Oaks during the summers of 2006 and 2007, Tougas said. Sheriff's deputies also found child pornography when they searched Kalita's residence on Brazil Street, Tougas said.

Kalita was being held in the jail on Friday in lieu of $500,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Sheriff's officials said anyone whose children have had contact with Kalita should call Tougas at 371-8397.

Child molesters should be tarred and feathered, and then lynched.

This is the second posting of this article. The first had a picture of the guy (looked pretty creepy). Now, the direct link has been pulled off the site, but you can still get to it here: http://www.venturacountystar.com/news...

That's the third time in a week that the VC Star has posted a dumbed-down version of a previously-posted article. What gives? Are you (VC Star) trying to control the amount of information we readers receive? I thought the press was supposed to uncover as many facts as possible and deliver them to the public. Instead, you are withdrawing facts for some unknown reason. I wonder how long it will be before the story I linked to is completely removed.
