Oxnard man killed walking on freeway
An Oxnard man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver late Christmas Eve near Culver City, authorities said.
Emelio Ramirez, 25, was hit while he was walking in the rain in the far-right lane of southbound Interstate 405 north of Sepulveda Boulevard shortly before 11 p.m., Los Angeles County Coroners Office Lt. Larry Dietz said.
Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 p.m. by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, Dietz said.
Information on why he was walking in the freeway lane was not available Saturday. The driver of an unknown vehicle drove away after the incident, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The CHPs West Los Angeles Office is investigating the fatality.

handyhood , I won't say a word LOL I am drinking my coffee now hehe........Hope you had a Merry Christmas! I recieved a son in law and two step grandkids. Still have one on the way, plus my little Angel I already have here so I went from one to four grandkids in 14 months!
Back to the article, this is sad. Condolences to this mans family, we have no clue why he would be walking on the 405 of all freeways to walk on that would be one of the worst. But whoever hit him should not have taken off! They should have stopped. Those three or four minutes with some CPR could have saved his life, I don't know. But I do hope they find the one that left him there to die.

You can't walk very far in traffic lanes on the 405 before you get picked off.

How terrible! On Christmas Eve too. Soo sad. Whatever this man's reason was for walking on the freeway that doesnt make it right that someone hit him and took off.

I wonder how they know where he was when he was hit as his body would most likely have been thrown a fair distance! perhaps he was in the hard shoulder.
