Five Oxnard males were arrested Saturday afternoon outside a Saviers Road clothing store with the aid of employees who fought with them in the parking lot after they allegedly stole several items and left without paying.
The suspects, ages 16 to 27, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit robbery and making criminal threats, Oxnard police said.
They included 27-year-old Adrian Arredon and 18-year-old Oscar Hernandez, who were booked into Ventura County Jail. Bail had not been set for either man Saturday night.
Police withheld the names of the other three, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, all of whom were booked into Juvenile Hall.
The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. at the Amigos Fashion store, 2416 Saviers Road.
Witnesses later told police that five people entered the store, took clothing and left without paying for the merchandise.
Store employees confronted the individuals in the parking lot, and a physical struggle ensued, authorities said.
When police arrived, the fight was still going on.
Police asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Detective Paul Knapp at 385-7600. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call 982-7070.

Marikin... those whose ancestors immigrated following the immigration laws are here legally. That is by far a majority of Americans. If you want people to quit complaining about all the crime by illegals then support deporting all illegals so there are none to blame. Until then I have to agree that too much crime is caused by illegals, including decendants of illegals.

Marikin, my grandparents both came here legally. My family worked hard, without handouts from anyone. I would welcome you and your father to come walk a day in MY shoes- working in a career that is mentally demanding, and requires a graduate degree (8 years of a college education)! I doubt you would last a day there!!! Physical labor is hard, as I worked a job taking care of physically handicapped people while working my way through college. The crime in Oxnard is always about illegal immigrants because they make up the population of Oxnard! My grandparents etc would be ashamed to see the state that California is in today!

It was 5 of these losers against 2 of the store employees!
I was there and saw this happen. There is ALOT of facts that the Star left out! I will wait until the families or friends of these losers start posting how these people are "Innocent, kind hearted, church going, would not hurt a fly, role models of society". Then I will give the details of how they acted and what these losers did!

JOE: funny how when its always in Oxnard the headlines always say Oxnard. But with Ventura the circle k shooting Ventura was never mentioned in the headline. Sad thing is Oxnard has higher crimes reporting but thats because people are actually calling in crimes. In Ventura the crimes are seen but not reported because the mentality of people just walk pass n dont care or just dont think things will be done

The shooting the other day in Ventura stated that there was a shooting at a Ventura Circle K. (one of the articles stated the City's name)

What I read about was that 5 (potential) thugs attempted larceny and were prevented by store employees, and subsequent police action from completing crimes. The two who could be named have Hispanic surnames.
There is a date, time, and location where this occurred reported.
Nothing suggests the immigrations status of those apprehended.
You can't deport legal citizens just because of a surname MrsMyth. Sorry, that isn't how it works.
What I have seen is a lot of noise, and angry talk that while it might be cathartic to the poster, does little to advance rational discussion or for that matter social policy to correct any of the "big picture" problems that crime or that element of it that the undocumented present.
Do you guys really enjoy being irrelevant? I sure hope so, since your shouting, racist stereotyping and goofy "conspiracy" rants pretty much ensure that you are.

MRSMYTH...I find it ironic that you claim that he puts stupidity in his posts, yet you then go one to use the incorrect form of the word "too." (two, to, too).
Do you disagree that crime knows no color? Do you think that all crime is committed by one group and not another? Do you think that only poor, disadvantaged people commit crime? If so, then I think the phrase, "stupid is as stupid does" is more than appropriate at this point.

Here are a few of the facts:
* All 5 went into Amigos; all of the action inside the store is on video tape.
* At least 1 of the suspects ran out of the store without paying for the clothes (The value is approx. $500).
* The owner’s son ran after the suspect with the clothes and stopped him.
* The second suspect ran up the owner’s son and started to punch him. Then both suspects started to fist fight with the owner’s son. The owner then ran up and started to fight with the 2 suspects.
* As the first suspect was attempting to flee, he dropped the clothes. The fight continued into the alley behind the business, where the 2 suspects were being detained by the owner and his son.
* The 3 other suspects then ran up to the scene and were trying to free their friends.
* They could not do this so 1 of the suspects allegedly stated he was getting a gun and left. He returned and 2 suspects tried to pull the owners son off the first suspect.
* This is when the first Police Unit arrived and 3 of the suspects tried to flee. A Police Officer drove in from Laurel and stopped the suspects.
* During the investigation, an Officer spotted a green Nissan Altima approx. 5 feet from him. The car was backed into a parking lot stall of the 2400 Saviers Road building (to the rear of Amigos) and it had a white piece of paper covering 1/2 of the rear license plate. The officers checked the registration and the car was registered to one of the suspects. The paper covering the rear license plate was put into evidence and will be checked for fingerprints.

Tim_O-I never assumed you didn't act as a witness. If you had stated in your post prior to your post at 1917 hrs then I wouldn't have given the suggestion. Suggestions and assumptions are very different.

It is not "politically correct" to advocate equal justice under the law...it is what this nation has been founded upon.
