Indecent exposure suspect arrested
A man suspected of masturbating in his car while attempting to speak to women in Simi Valley is behind bars this morning, authorities said.
The 45-year-old Lancaster man was arrested in the area of Los Angeles Avenue and Stearns Street in Simi Valley after a parent of a Simi Valley High School Student called police about 3 p.m. to report seeing a man touching himself as he drove around attempting to speak to women in the area of the school, Simi Valley police said.
Police said a 17-year-old girl later told authorities the suspect approached her while masturbating in his vehicle in the area of Cochran Street and Sycamore Drive. She told authorities the man tried to speak to several other women in the area, police said in a prepared statement.
The suspect was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of two counts of misdemeanor indecent exposure. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Anyone who has information about the suspect can call police at 583-6950.

He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail...
Here we go again. 10K bail, for giving sick memories to victims, that may last the rest of their life...
Is he headed for Bruce Clarks Court Room also?
Bail should be 10,000 for each and every one of the several people who complained. This guy had multible victims.
We had a Ventura County Fireman years ago, who got caught doing the same thing... We had been neighbors with him at one time, and our children had played together. My ex and I had worked for him at his home.
He said it was the stress of losing his wife (she died), and that the victims only thought they saw him masterbating. "In fact," he said, what they saw was him, "dusting off" a sex toy (use your imaginations) "that had been rolling around on the truck floor, while he was driving."
Molestors seem to be some of our best creative defense story tellers ever.
I was shocked a few years later, when I found the same offender, doing maintenance work for a local property managers office, going in and out of private homes, doing repairs (and God knows what else) and the residents not knowing they had a sex offender in their homes! I had to tell my girls to stay the hell away from him!
Carry on you wayward pukes. You'll keep getting away with it in Ventura County.

America needs CORPRAL PUNISHMENT, as a way to Keep people in LINE! I'm SICK and TIRED of reading about crime! I think it's time to let law enforcement agency's BEAT CRIMINALS DOWN! Send a message to the next MOFO, who thinks it's O.K. to disturb someone else's life. It seems to work just fine in other countries. All I'm saying is give CAINING a try. Probation and other types of SLAPS ON THE WRIST, just don't work anymore.

I had this type of incident happen to me when I was a teenager. I was walking down Seaward minding my own business and some guy pulled over next to me. Of course you look over to see who has just pulled up and to my suprise, there was his willie! He was, let's just say REALLY taking care of things. It made me so sick and disgusted. I felt trapped because even though I walked faster he just kept along side of me. I then made a comment that no man wants to hear (size) and he drove off. Of course back then not everyone had cell phones so I couldn't call the police right away.
Seriously, what makes these guys think that woman actually want to see this act? I don't understand. Can anyone on here answer that question of the day? LOL

OK STAFF REPORTERS- Why don't you included SIMI VALLEY in the title of the article? If this had happened in Oxnard the title would read like this
Oxnard man arrested for indescent exposure in front of Oxnard High School...
Am I right?
Keep up the crappy work!

what does this loser have to do with Simi Valley though Durleypark"legend"? he is a lancaster resident, who happened to be in simi. more than likely, the title you suggested would have worked, because a majority of the crimes committed in oxnard, are committed by oxnardians. get over it.
if you can report better than the STAR, start your own paper.
I agree with lawabider. our liberal society allows too many criminals to repeat these despicable acts over and over again. the middle east might be a disgusting place to live, but do they have repeat offenders? exactly.

Oh my. Oxnard/Ventura has its gangbangers, and the other end of the county has its willie waggers: George Pecci of T.O. (the perv who just received five years for molesting), Mr. Wright in Moorpark (the perv who showed off nude pix of himself to a 15-year-old former student), and now this perv, who carted his cookies all the way from Lancaster to Simi, just to show off his "technique". Don't these guys know when to put that silly thing away?

I was always taught that people who expose themselves are looking for that negative reaction. The disgust, etc. If you point, laugh and in a very loud voice exclaim, "wow everyone come here and look at this little thing this man is trying to show me," they leave. The excitement for them is grossing you out, when you laugh like Ms California did, you ruin it for them :)
So smile, point and laugh!!! That should end any unwanted visuals

Ms_California: what makes these guys think that woman actually want to see this act?
100% about them, from their point of view....
They know most do not want to see it. It's not about the victim. It's about their sickness and self centered diseased mind. It did not need to be you, it could have been anyone who fit his personal profile of a victim. As a cop once told me, when I was very young: a guy might have it in his mind, his victim must be a little blond haired girl, with pig tails tied red ribbons, riding a bicycle... And that perp will wear himself out, looking for a victim fitting his needs. That's part of that perps disease. After enslaving himself to his need, his hunt, his self-reward is victimizing his target victim. Some are not so specific. Some are just looking for a witness to their sick deeds. But it's 100% about them, from their point of view.... That's part of the recovery process in knowing, it was not the victim's fault... just wrong person, place or time... in my case - parents who did not know how to keep a close watch on thier kids and no frank talks about who is allowed to touch and how they are allowed to touch.

Hey "letg58", don't steotype "Vegas" as a place people need to go for hookers. Actually prositution in not legal here despite what you might think or see on TV. I am from Santa Paula, I've lived in Las Vegas for 10 years now. I know a lot of people think that what happens here stays here. O.J. didn't get away with his crimes so don't think anyone else who comes here will as well.

I am sorry to go against this crowd, but on a scale of what his crimes could be this is on par with shoplifting. I doubt anyone who saw him will be traumatized for life. If someone suggest this is a stepping stone to assualt you are simply guessing. As for the poster sick and tired of all crime, name a time or place that has been safer than modern day Ventura County.Places with 500 residents don't count.

Narc121 & Fedup...I totally disagree. Stories get buried most of the time when they are from the East County, whereas the ones for Oxnard get billboard status. I won't get into who commits them there, that's not the point. Here is the point:
Take a good look at the headline. Very vague, no geographical indication.
Now in the coming weeks, assess the various headlines and not just a 'cursory gander' like today.

how else could this headline have read?
"Lancaster man arrested for indecent exposure incident in Simi Valley"??
kind of long, don't you think?
honestly, I dont think the STAR has anything against oxnard, per se. I just think oxnard crime dominates the headlines based on the number of crimes, and the usual severity of them.
as for the person who thinks that puts this crime on par with shoplifting. wow. if you think some dude jerking off in front of teenage girls is the same as someone stealing a candy bar or a cd, you need to seriously get your head examined.

OH, OP! You didn't really just equate two people of the same gender being consensually attracted to each other with some dude getting off by showing his junk to completely unwilling & unsuspecting & often underage girls, did you?!? Ok, I understand your point that the attitude of the general populace toward people who happen to be of the same sex entering into private, consensual, relationships with each other has changed dramatically. The general populace of 1960's attitute toward interracial relationships was also radically different than it is today. Some of the same epithets you mentioned above were surely uttered about that type of benign relationship as well. The fact is, we, as a society, are moving toward a more tolerant, inclusive, love based collective state of mind. We no longer fear & loathe & try to kill everything that is unfamiliar to us. And that's a GOOD thing! Rest assured, however, that the (formerly accepted & generally practiced, by the way) forcing of women, or ANY victims for that matter, into unwanted sexual situations will NEVER be accepted or even tolerated in civilized society.

I probably shouldn't have lumped Mr. Pecci in with Mr. Wright and "Master Bates" in my first comment. Pecci was convicted of, amongst other counts, an oral cop, which is way more serious/depraved than exposing oneself or showing nude photos to a minor. So, I apologize to Pecci's victims, because they will be scarred for life, which is a tragedy, and not to be minimized.

FED UP,
You miss the point completely. I know of homicides and other major crimes that have occured in Simi and Camarillo that this newspaper buries in tiny little articles placed in out of the way locations. If you think Oxnard isnt singled out for selective prosecution, you obviously have your head buried in the sand.If your community was treated in the same manner, you would point out the same disparity as well

Posted by caroldammit on December 19, 2008 at 1:57 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Stone: Are you deliberately misreading my comment? If it wasn't clear, I apologize. Let me try again: No, what the suspect in this article is accused of is NOT a good thing, and will not, and should not be accepted or tolerated in civilized society. The good thing of which I wrote was the gradual and general enlightenment of mankind as a whole to which I attribute the ability of most of us to comprehend the difference between consensual, interpersonal relationships, and the victimization & subjugation related in this article.
Posted by FedUp on December 19, 2008 at 2:01 p.m. (Suggest removal)
I am not missing the point. I just fail to see how one city which has maybe 1-2 homicides per year, can compare with cities that have more than 10. of course the headlines are going to be more noticable and recognizable when they are in the news that much more often.
heck, I live in Ventura, and I know for a fact there is much more crime here than is reported in the STAR. I just do not think the crimes are nearly as severe, or headline grabbing as those in Oxnard.
maybe Bruce Mclean can chime in here, and say why there is such a disparity in headlines...

caroldammit @ so which way is our society moving?
1. will not, and should not be accepted or tolerated in civilized society.
2. The fact is, we, as a society, are moving toward a more tolerant, inclusive, love based collective state of mind.
history has shown us society is truly a pendulum well gotta pay the bills to be cont.:-]
Posted by caroldammit on December 19, 2008 at 2:56 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Stone: I, too, believe that, on the grand scale, everything is perpetually in motion between two opposite positions, as illustrated by a pendulum (& something more omni-dimensional, actually, that I can't quite put into words.) I believe that in the area of civilization, we are creeping in the direction of becoming more loving than fearful, more tolerant of benign differences than, well INtolerant would be the opposite of that one. I do not view violence and victimization as something we are, or should be, becoming more tolerant of. I see those things, in the arena of love vs. fear as closer to the fear end of the spectrum & think (hope) that that is falling behind us on the sliding scale.

Although I think it is a bit worse than oilpiers states, I agree with him that it is interesting that we are ready to crucify this moron, but we have no problem that the financial industry has raped our children of any future they will have. We should burn AIG to the ground and force the closure of JP Morgan and penalize all we can for fraud.
It is probably not reasonable to compare the two, but I am so fedup with handing over huge sums of money for fraudulent idiot bankers who knew that this was the only outcome and now our children will pay.
Sorry, this is a pretty big drift from the original topic - I am glad they caught the guy and he certainly will be punished and I hope the victims are not too traumatized.....

==================
that is what was said about homosexuality in 1970.
Only time will tell if pedophilia, adult minor relationships, exhibitionism, and zoophilia will follow the same path.
Most of these people will claim that they are born that way and it is natural and it can all be found in nature in order to justify their acceptance and demand your tolerance.

Oilpiers, Fred, et al. -- just one woman's perspective: 35 yrs. ago I was a first-grader walking home from school with my big sister (we did those things back in day). A neighborhood perv (a teenager) decided to show us his package from his front yard as we passed by. And yes, I did feel violated and weirded-out, and it is still not my favorite memory. Somehow our experiences do shape us, in ways large or small (no pun intended). I had to ID him for police from the town's high school yearbook -- another not-so-fun experience for a young child. Let's protect our children from this kind of garbage and look out for one another as best we can.
