Man faces 7-year sentence in child porn case
A man who pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony possession of child pornography is facing up to seven years in prison and a $10,000 fine, said prosecutors.
Steven Graben, 50, was seen by visitors at E.P. Foster Library in Ventura accessing child pornography on the library's computers in November, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Howard Wise.
Two days earlier, a library visitor saw Graben downloading child pornography on the computers, Wise said. Police reported they found copies of child pornography that he had downloaded in previous visits to the library.
Graben, formerly of Santa Maria, was on parole at the time of the offense. He was previously convicted of assault with intent to commit rape and was sentenced to prison, according to Wise.
Ventura County Superior Court Judge Bruce Clark set sentencing for Graben on Jan. 9, court records show.
The case was investigated by the Ventura Police Department and the Southern California High Tech Task Force.

The libraries in this area really need to consider filters for their system.

yes, i agree with schoolbusdude, public computers should have filters. i remember years ago using the computers at that same library before i had my own home computer. i sat down to a computer that had sites minimized on the task bar that was all PORN sites. Gross! I asked for another computer, lol. this man truly has a sickness where he has to go to a public library to use a computer and download child porn. maybe it was a cry for help, he probably knew he would eventually get caught. those sickos cant be cured, lock them up and let them room with "Bubba" in jail.

Well, he is at least a parole violater he is going back for that. Clark would be hard put not to give him 3 or 4 years minimum, in addition to his parole violation time.
