Helicopter helps douse wildfire near CSUCI
A small brush fire was extinguished Tuesday morning near CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 9:44 a.m. on the south side of West Potrero Road, near the edge of the university. The blaze grew to about 2 1/2 acres before firefighters doused it with the help of water drops from helicopters, said Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Ron Oatman.
No injuries or damage were reported. The cause remained under investigation Tuesday.
