A 17-year-old Camarillo resident was stabbed several times and dropped off at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard early Sunday morning, police said.
An Oxnard police report said the incident is being called an attempted homicide. Police described the unknown assailant as an 18-year-old man with a tall, thin build.
At 1:56 a.m., police officers were dispatched to the hospital, where the victim told police the stabbing took place in the 1100 block of South M Street.
The victim told officers there was an argument, a fight ensued and the assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times.
The victim was last reported in stable condition.

Lovely, more arguments more criminal activity. Ventura Co. might as be L.A.

Oh no! Not another stabbing in Oxnard! How could that be? Haven't they already had more than their share of shootings and stabbings this year? Don't the gangs set territorial limits on the terror they can produce in one city during the year? Sorry, couldn't help myself!

Does anyone besides me feel that there is something being left out in this story? And again, what was this 17 year old doing out at almost 2:00 am? And why was he not only out, but in a different City?

umm handyhood maybe because he was allowed to and was at a PARTY?
hard guess but yeah not to hard to figure out. . .

Poor kid, should of been at home, tucked away in his warm bed, going into his second pleasant dreams.
Hope he's going to be okay.

I still think a temporary curfew would help eliminate this ugliness of nightlife in Ventura County... That would give the officers the right to approach anyone out at that hour and could, possibly, mitigate some of this violence... Too bad the libs think a temporary curfew would pose too much of an imposition on those that want to be out partying after hours...

Punks take a knife to a fist fight.........
I hope the kid makes a full recovery!

I remember, back in the dark ages, we used to have "garage parties". No one bothered us. These young people should be able to go and enjoy themselves without fear of retaliation. A little shoving, arguments or what not and the young people should be sent away....but not with this generation....they just want to kill somebody. No one is safe if these "terrorists" are allowed to continue to do what they please. I don't know the percentage, but I believe that on average alot more lives are lost here than the total in Iraq. For you anti-gun proponents...as you can see with this story they stabbed the young man.

Curfew, curfew, curfew!! That is the only answer. Or bring back military service for 2 years!!
Posted by opns on December 1, 2008 at 8:08 a.m. (Suggest removal)
grammiegrace- those 'garage parties' were fun, and they were everywhere. The drivebys were just merely that, rarely any problems. We use to invite the friends from around the neighborhood. Remember that? Now that was so cool, getting to know the people from 2,3,or 4 blocks around and beyond.
We need to bring back garage parties again, but the music won't be as good as yester-years. Bummer.

I guess I'm a lot older than you, because when I was a kid we had a 10:00pm curfew and we didn't have parties without some kind of adult supervision. I have to agree with lawabider on this one.
Annawhat- the problem is that if you take a knife, someone takes a gun. There is no such thing as a fist fight anymore. The little homies are afraid to fight with their fist because they get beat down!

opns,
Have you noticed that music from the 70's and 80's is making a comeback (little by little), it is being repackaged for todays youth.
The new modern music being put out is crap!
When was the last time you heard a 'true hit song' that the general public really liked?

Read - I agree, anyone can be a singer these days, just lower your pants to your you know what, put on skimpy clothing, do a hand gesture like a homie, and you got a hit. They don't even sing, but yell cuss and make sexual gestures. I hope your right, we need good music to relax too, instead of waking up to cr_p. Actors and vocalist were just that. A stupid song will come out that the bangers think is cool, and you never hear from them again.
Please give the american people a break from this so called BS music.

KVTA: The witnesses say the suspect is an 18-year-old Hispanic male, tall with a thin build. Apparently several juveniles witnessed the incident. The suspect vehicle is described as a white full sized extend cab pickup truck.

iluvoxnard: i agree, cam people complain all the time about how awful and scary ox is, so if its so bad then dont come to OX, plain and simple.

mama - you can bet on that, i don't listen to it!! haha. Don't need someone to me to not too. I know music appreciation when i hear it, and trust me, the music today is nothing like yesteryears. I hear these idiots on the road blasting their music, think they look cool. Think again. They look stupid sitting in their cars looking like morons. they look like uneducated dummies on the road, what a joke. Geez, these people need to grow up, and get some Class into their blood stream.
Oh, and, no rarely go to oxnard.

opns--everybody and their mother can make a CD these days. The music industry is inundated with junk these days, while the quality music is few and far between. Sad state of affairs.

what does music have to do with this? this guy was in an argument which lead to him being stabbed, not random at all... though there is rarely a good reason for violence, there IS USUALLY a reason.

Prayers to this young man for a full recovery and to his family for peace over this act of cowardice violence.

music has everything to do with it
this is why when the sun goes down in The 'Nard,
Go home, lock your windows and your doors, and make sure your 12 gauge is loaded…

coffee67..dropped off is right. That's the usual MO when some kid gets stabbed or shot, quick drive by the back door of the nearest ER, a little shove in the back to get them inside and a quick drive away while the staff is quickly trying to assess the situation. You gotta realize that calling 911 brings cops and no one wants that.

beachgurl, from your lips to gawds ears.
I really don't see the correlation with the music though... someone please explain.

JR-Music brought up in relation to "garage parties" (where they think the kid should've been) by grammagracie & opns early this morning.

I agree. There are two reasons for being 'dropped off' at a hospital. Drug overdose or gang violence.

If the pop music of today doesn't pi$$ of old people, it's not doing it's job. It happens every generation.

music & violence-
A lot of the younger generation have and always will put the two together.. They think that artists like 50 cent, The Game, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, etc., really do gang bang!! They DON'T!! they're a bunch of millionaires who get rich off saying they do. Anything to sell the youth a dream. Think about it what kid doesn't want the FAME, money, women, cars clothes Ond so on!! P.S. Death To MTV, Its Horrible now. Sex This, Sex that!!

take it easy everyone this was a dispute between two people.no need to marginalize and attack Oxnard becaue these two people had a fight between themselves

handyhood, you are right we had adult supervision and a 10 o'clock curfew. They were still fun. The innocence is gone from the youth of today. We actually "danced" at these parties! Does anyone remember the Teen Toppers?

Caroldam -- no, it was a comparison of the type of fights from yesteryears compared to today. I just simply added the the great old music to the garage paries. It was easier back then. No such thing as a community get together anymore with a__holes, tearing a nice party apart.
I don't think i mentioned or suggested the kid should of been at a garage party, huh, er, ah okay, anyway, just about all go off topic a bit or more.

Personally I dont like the music. BUT my adult children do. Well two of them. But they also like Country! So it depends on what you want to hear.
Snoop is a great guy and Dad. He helps coach his kids baseball team. He is really into thier education. Even trying to get one into a high class college so he can play football and hopefully become a member of the NFL.
