More from CamarilloA big crowd gathered at Somis School on Thursday night for a back-to-school ice cream social. New and returning students came to see what classes they were in, and families enjoyed a cool ice cream on a beautiful summer night.
The next Somis School event is the 15th Annual Barn Dance and BBQ planned for Saturday, September 27th at the Thiessen Barn featuring a tri tip dinner prepared by Jim and Theresa Pellerino and the popular country band, Caught Red Handed. This is the only fundraiser the Somis Education Foundation organizes during the year, and raises funds for enrichment programs, field trips and school supplies for the Somis School students.
The BBQ will also include a silent auction and raffle featuring a flat screen TV, an autographed Lebron James basketball, a historical reproduction quilt from the 1880s and a Ray Ayers print.
