Calling all Muggles who, as kids, were wild about 'Harry'
Ten years ago, Muggle, Quidditch, Gryffindor and the rest of J.K. Rowling's magical lexicon became familiar to U.S. readers when "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," the first title in her seven-book series about a boy wizard, was published. On Sept. 23, Scholastic plans to release a 10-year anniversary edition of "Sorcerer's Stone" with "bonus material" from Rowling and a new cover (at right) by artist Mary GrandPré.
We want to observe the anniversary, too. If you were 10, give or take a few years, when the book came out, you're now a young adult. We'd like to hear from Star readers who delved into "Sorcerer's Stone" as kids.
What was your first reaction to the book? Does Harry still have a place in your heart? How has the series affected you? Send responses to Karen Lindell at klindell@VenturaCountyStar.com by Sept. 8. Please include a daytime phone number.
