Two brothers arrested in vehicle burglary attempt

Two Oxnard brothers were in county jail Wednesday after being arrested on suspicion of second-degree vehicle burglary in Port Hueneme.

A resident of an apartment complex called Port Hueneme police Tuesday afternoon after hearing glass breaking outside his home.

He went outside to investigate and saw a man taking property from a parked vehicle and placing it into a second parked vehicle.

After the resident called police, officers arrived within minutes in the 100 block of Seaview Street and arrested Frederick Yabut, 23, and Rick Yabut, 21.

Bail for both men was $10,000.

Can we say "RETARDED"?

I don't even see WHY we have bail. The flight risk for anyone being convicted of a crime is way too high to even consider bail. Everyone is a flight risk.

I say increase the bail to some rediculous number or do away with bail and have a night court trial the next week - let the dummies stew in jail for a bit until then.

Hey 2 cents, for the record I agree with you. Glad they were caught. But try not to get too excited in support of your hispanic roots. I think the number of letters is still proportional to those who commit the crimes. Most of us who don't break the laws don't really care about color or race, just putting a stop to crime. Suggest everyone does the same

Mplfx you are so right Most of us who don't break the law don't care about race or color (wouldn't race and color fall in the same category?)
And not to get too exited in support of our hispanic roots? Well if we don't defend our "hispanic" roots who will.
Everyone cares about what race commited a crime.. go check out the comments on the two young "hispanic" boys that got shot in Rose park and how many express how they should of just died and make our city better.
I'm sorry but 2 cents is right on the target. If those kids were white or any other race rather than "hispanics"
You woud of seen more of
Hope they get better
Hope they catch the shooters.
Instead you read
Wait till retaliation.
They were fighting for the money on Aguilar.
Here we go again with those Colonia gangsters.
Good to hear that us hispanics aren't the only law breakers in ventura county

Dottie;

appreciate you're pride. Still find it a shame that it can't stay about legal or illegal! That remains real clear. Hiding behind anything or making excuses just enables bad behavior.

"my_2cents" Stop the racism. You are worse than those you complain about.

Still happy they got caught, regardless of color. We've all had a car broken into at some point, & it's nice when they get caught so clearly that there is no defense aside from plea bargaining.

Restitution and 100's of hours of community service will hopefully teach them the proper lesson.

my_2cents said, "Here we go again just because they are not HISPANICS!! NO COMMENTS!!!" Yabut sounds like a Filipino name to me. According to Wikipedia, "Filipino Gangs in the United States are largely focused in and around the Southern California region (SoCal) and generally the entire West Coast region. Due to their hispanic culture they are more assimilated with other Latino gangs." So there you go, my_2cents.
