@TO-Cal Stand Out hed:Smooth grooves Gatsby Jazz Festival, CARPINTERIA If Justin Timberlake can bring sexy back, Brian Culbertson figures that he can bring funk back. The smooth jazz keyboardist/trombonist, pictured, teamed up with Earth Wind & Fire's Maurice White to create his latest CD, "Bringing Back the Funk." Culbertson will get his funk on when he headlines the Gatsby Jazz Festival on Saturday at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, 3375 Foothill Road, Carpinteria. Gates open at 3 p.m. for the show, which will also feature singer Gerald Albright, pianist Marcus Johnson, and the groups Himalaya and L.A. Mambo Combo.
