Dido has slated a Nov. 4 release date for her oft-delayed third album, "Safe Trip Home." The album track "Look No Further" is available as a free download at http://www.DidoMusic.com. The set was co-produced by Jon Brion, Dido and her brother Rollo Armstrong — working together under the moniker Ark. One track, "Grafton Street," was co-written with Brian Eno.
R&B singer/songwriter/producer Joe is back with a new album, the fittingly titled "New Man," arriving Sept. 23. "It's a modern, classic R&B album," the 35-year-old performer said. "I focus a lot on lyrics and subject matters. I took my time with the recording and came up with something I call today's R&B.'"
North Carolina indie Merge Records will celebrate its 20th anniversary with the release of "SCORE!," a subscription-only boxed set. The series will feature 14 custom-curated discs comprised of material from the Merge catalog, along with original artwork. The first two discs will be curated by Peter Buck of R.E.M. and "Junebug" director Phil Morrison. Curators for future volumes will include Amy Poehler, David Byrne and author Jonathan Lethem.
... And you Will Know us by the Trail of Dead is putting the finishing touches on its sixth album, due in January. An EP, "Festival Time," will precede the album in October and feature an unconventional cover of the Replacements' "Within Your Reach."
