Morrissey discusses his wide-ranging musical tastes with "Morning Becomes Eclectic" host Nic Harcourt during a pre-taped interview set to air at 11:05 a.m. Friday on SoCal public radio station KCRW.

The ex-Smiths frontman, who just finished recording a new solo CD called "Years of Refusal," calls himself an "early developeer" who began collecting singles in the '60s. Over the years, he's been influenced by such acts as Sparks and the Buzzcocks to the New York Dolls and one-hit-wonder group Mr. Bloe. The first song he spins on the show is "What Took You So Long" by a new four-piece Manchester, England, band called the Courteeners.

"You think you'll outgrow everything," Morrissey tells Harcourt. "But with music, with artists, you actually fall in love. You fall in love with that moment, hearing them. You may push these things aside for 10 or 15 years, but you go back to them"
