Oxnard residents arrested after vehicle burglary

Two Oxnard men were in county jail late Wednesday afternoon, charged with second-degree vehicle burglary.

Port Hueneme police said a resident at an apartment complex there called them early Tuesday afternoon "after hearing glass breaking outside" his home.

He went outside to investigate and saw a man taking property from a parked vehicle and placing it into a second parked vehicle.

The man called police, who arrived at the 100-block Seaview Street address within minutes.

Police arrested Frederick Yabut, 23, and Rick Yabut, 21, at the scene in connection with the break in of a vehicle.

Bail for both men was $10,000.

"He went outside to investigate"

Now this is an upstanding Citizen and the kind of neighbor i want. Congradulations.

Sometimes all it takes is shaking the door or opening the curtain to scare them away.

Seems like OPD is catching more and more of them all the time. And, I agree, there is a whole book of things that could be said about Yabut!!
