Suspect arrested in tanning salon robbery

A man suspected of robbing a Ventura tanning salon this weekend was arrested this morning, police said.
Juan Espinosa, 32, of Oxnard was taken into custody without incident about 7:30 a.m. when police served a search warrant at his home in Oxnard, said Sgt. Rick Murray of the Ventura Police Department.
Espinosa was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Espinosa is the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred about 10:40 a.m. Sunday at the Tan-Fastic Tanning Salon at 2855 Johnson Dr. in Ventura, police said.
In that incident, the robber entered the salon, demanded money from a clerk and displayed a handgun.
The clerk gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect moved the clerk into a back room, presumably to keep her from calling police in a timely fashion, then ran out of the business after she locked herself in, Murray said.
The clerk was not injured.
The kidnapping allegation relates to the act of moving the clerk to a different part of the business.

I'm suprised that this didn't happen in Oxnard, oh wait, Johnson Dr. is real close to Oxnard. Only a bridge seperates the two so, never mind!

I just want to say to those of you in ventura or anywhere else where you think your better than us here in oxnard. you think it's funny to make light of some of these tragic things that happen not only to the victims of these horrible crimes and thier families, but also to the parents,husbands,wives,children and siblings of the offenders. there is nothing more pathetic than someone who gets thier kicks off the suffering of others. by the way, last time i checked ventura ave.is still a cesspool of humanity!

OPNS: reality_hurts likes to make broad statements that purposefully encompass more than the group he's targeting with his statement. Either that, or he's just not very bright with the irresponsible assumptions he makes about a population of people.

Juan Espinosa - with a name like that, I doubt he was looking to go in there to tan.
You dont see people like "Patrick O'brien" or "Cornelious Fitzpatrick" robbing tanning salons.

I have been using this salon for many years. It is a well run place with wonderful employee's. I feel it is really sad that someome would go in and scare that poor clerk like that and rob a family owned bussiness. Props to the people who were smart enough to give his discription. You should try this salon it is great!

He robbed a tanning salon and didn't get a tan what in the heck was he thinking. Is he friends with the guy who robbed the broke furniture store is it the same guy?
