BASEBALL
COASTAL LEAGUE: Ventura Coastal Little League will hold registration every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of September on fields Nos. 1 and 2 at Camino Real Park. Information: http://www.vcll.org or 484-3000.

HITTING CLINICS: Roger Frash, an assistant coach at Oxnard College, and associates will lead fall hitting clinics for ages 9-12 every Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Camarillo Bat-R-Up, 487 Dawson Drive, Camarillo. HITTING CAMP: Mark Magdaleno will host a 12-week hitting program on Sundays at Ventura College. Divisions include high school, age groups 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, and open. The fall maintenance begins the first week of September. Information: Lessons page at http://www.magdalenobaseball.com.
CAMARILLO FALL BALL: Registration has opened for youths ages 5 to 19. All games will be played on Sunday afternoons. There will be no practices. It will be a fun league. It will be an opportunity for newcomers to learn about the game or for good players to keep their skills sharp. Games start on Sept. 14th and run for 10 weeks. SOFTBALL
BLAST SEEKS PLAYERS: The SoCal Blast 18-and-under travel team is seeking to add a couple of impact players for the fall season. Information: Carl Snyder at 616-0785.
SOCAL COMBAT: The SoCal Combat Panthers 18-and-under Gold team of Newbury Park will hold open tryouts on Saturday at Borchard Park and on Sunday at Peppertree Park. Both sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Players can register at 9:30 a.m. both days. SOCAL JETS: The SoCal Jets 14-and-under team will hold tryouts on Sept. 6 at Valley View Park in Oak Park from 9 a.m. to noon. The Jets are looking to add pitchers and utility players to complement the state championship team. The Jets are seeking to return to the ASA Nationals. PUMAS TRYOUTS: The Southern California Pumas will hold 18-and-under Gold tryouts on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Borchard Park in Newbury Park. BASKETBALL
BULLS TRYOUTS: The Oxnard Bulls will have tryouts for boys in fourth and seventh grade on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Information: Lamar Ludy at 216-5919.
TEAM CONCEPT: Team Concept will host tryouts for middle school boys' and girls' travel teams on Sept. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Colina Middle School, 1500 E. Hillcrest Road, Thousand Oaks. Girls' high school club tryouts will be Sept. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Calabasas High, 22855 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas. Shooting and ball-handling skills clinics for all ages and abilities will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Sept. 15 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Colina Middle School. HEAT JAM: The Oxnard Heat Jam Tournament dates will be Sept. 20-21, Oct. 11-12 or 18-19 and Nov. 8-9 at Pacifica High in Oxnard. There will be divisions for girls and boys. Cost is $300 per team, including three-game guarantee. Information: James White at 509-9294.

CONEJO FALL LEAGUE: The Conejo Recreation and Park Sports District is accepting registration for an adult fall league, which starts Sept. 9. Games will be played Tuesday and Thursday nights. VENTURA FAMILY YMCA: A fall basketball league will be held at the Ventura Family YMCA. Registration is being held through Sept. 3. Ages 3-12, co-ed. CHANNEL ISLANDS VOLLEYBALL CLUB: Tryouts for the 2008 Channel Islands Volleyball Club high school boys season will be held on Sept. 7 and Sept. 14 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Ventura College gym. SWIMMING
RIO MESA: The Rio Mesa Swim Club is a year-round competitive swim program for ages 6-20, plus adults and master divisions. Swim club registration is taken daily at 6 p.m., beginning Sept. 2. The pool is located at Rio Mesa High, 545 Central Ave., in Oxnard. Tryouts are necessary for skill placement. Athletes should bring a birth certificate. USA Swimming registration is $55 for the year. GYMNASTICS
PEDERFERRI BENEFIT: Coach Patty's School of Gymnastics will hold a benefit on Sept. 13 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for CHP Officer Tony Pederferri, who sustained injuries in a Dec. 17, 2007, accident on Highway 101. The benefit is being held in conjunction with National Gymnastics Day. Pederferri's daughters, Hanna and Samantha, attend the gymnastics school. Information: 383-9460.
WATER POLO
TITAN WATER POLO CLUB: Coed youth team, ages 7-14. Registration runs today through Thursday at 6 p.m., Rio Mesa High Community Pool. Practices are from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday. SOCCER
7 ON 7 LEAGUE: The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District is introducing a women's 7-vs.-7 soccer league. Teams may register through Wednesday.
