Sustainability expert Wayne Pendrey, chairman of the Ventura County Contractors' Association's green building committee, will speak during the Big E Extravaganza, to be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 and 28 at the Palms Shopping Center, 2100 Outlet Center Drive, Oxnard.
Pendrey will discuss how to build a 4,000-square-foot home with a utility bill of less than $30 per year using passive solar systems. His talk is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 27.
The free event also will feature 175 vendor booths, more than 50 seminars, lectures and demonstrations, an exhibit on the history of energy and live entertainment.
