An El Rio man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder after his wife was stabbed multiple times, authorities said.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the 2600 block of Balboa Street about 12:25 p.m., said Capt. Ross Bonfiglio, a sheriff's spokesman.
They found the wife had been stabbed numerous times in her upper body, Bonfiglio said.
Her husband, Joe Loera Runas, 55, was arrested and taken to Ventura County Jail.
The wife was treated at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Bonfiglio said.
"Her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening," he added.

So sad. Sad to think that she probably will go back to this loser. The abused always return to the abuser. I hope that she gets some help with this and gets away from this idiot!

reality hurts -
so true, everyone always knows around the family and neighborhood, 'oh he's such a nice guy, always does out of his way for his friends, will take the shirt off his back', the old Mr. Nice Guy persona/story. Only because she keeps mum. but now, everyone will blame the victim. Watch out for Mr. Nice Guy, the smooth one, quiet one. ((Woman or Man) goes both ways.

How many stabbings is that in Ventura County this year? It seems like there is a stabbing every week.
