A Camarillo man charged with possessing and distributing child pornography will have a bail hearing on Friday, officials said.
Christopher Oswald, 41, was arrested Aug. 6 as he left Naval Base Ventura County at Point Mugu, where he works as a telephone installer, according to Deputy Chief Investigator Vinse Gilliam with the District Attorney's Office.
Oswald is being held in Ventura County jail under a $250,000 bail, said Gilliam. Oswald was arraigned on Aug. 14 and has pleaded not guilty.
He is charged with two counts of felony possession of child pornography and one felony count of distribution of child pornography, according to Gilliam.
If convicted of all charges, Oswald could get up to four years and four months in state prison, said Gilliam.
Oswald had stored more than 180,000 pornographic images, according to authorities, who said the initial investigation of 4,000 images showed that 1,000 of them were suspected child pornography.
The investigation began in 2007, when federal agents began targeting suspected users of major child-pornography Web sites., Gilliam said.

Why do people rely on kids for their sick sexual fantasies? And, they always get caught! That is good. Jail these perps.

This is one behavior I just could not understand. How they can get off at using children to fulfil their perverted minds.

I understand that everyone is equal under the law and that we should all get equal protection and are due our constitutional rights, but folks, when it comes to sexual predators who prey on our children, I draw the line.
There is solid proof from many, many studies that these sick individuals cannot be reformed.
They escalate from fantasy to reality, and actually victimize young kids, sometimes for years before thay are caught!
Sure, not 100 percent of them will move on to real kids vs pictures. But I would rather err on the side of the children.
Once they are caught, that's it, throw away the key, period!

NowHear, they do not always get caught, actually very few get caught.
Statistics show the perverts can not/will not be rehabilitated, in any way.
Answer: CASTRATION / DEATH PENALTY
In my opinion you do not have to commit murder to get the death penalty. Some crimes against women and children warrant the death penalty.

I have a friend who was molested by an adult male when she was 15. She was abused at home and this guy befriended her, got her drunk, and raped her. She couldn’t go to her parents because of her situation at home. Her self esteem was so low that she blamed herself, and he threatened to tell people what had happened if she refused to have sex with him again. Even though he was the rapist, she felt so terrified and humiliated at the thought of people finding out that their “relationship” went on for several months until she finally got the courage to stop meeting him.
It is absolutely sickening how “skilled” some of these child molesters are at what they do – they know exactly how to identify vulnerable children, and what to do and say to keep them quiet. It is impossible to overemphasize the threat they are to our innocent kids, and we need to do whatever we can to keep more children from becoming victims.
