School board opposes prison hospital plan

The Ventura County Board of Education passed a resolution Wednesday opposing the construction of a prison hospital in the county.

A federal receiver selected the current site of the Ventura County Youth Facility near Camarillo to be converted into one of seven prison hospitals for physically and mentally ill adult inmates expected to be built around California. The hospitals are meant to satisfy a federal court order for California to improve its prison healthcare system, which was found to be unconstitutionally poor.

The Board of Education passed the resolution 4-0, with Mary Louise Peterson abstaining.

Why would Mary Louise Peterson abstain?

Good. I just read an article in the Sacbee stating that this prison plan throughout the state will cost taxpayers $640 million dollars per year for the next 25 years.

Great to see the School Board on Board.....

Now if our buddies in Sac will stop the blank check and brinks truck, that Mr. Kelso has heading to the State's Capital to access the Budget we will be fine......

Clark put your prison elsewhere perhaps Blyth....

Stay out of Ventura County, you are in fight that you will most certainly loose, and it is going to be very costly to you and your cause.

Hillbilly Prince..
