Ventura comics Crazy Randall (L) and Kamaka Brown make their point!

Ventura resident, producer and comic Kamaka Brown will produce "Random Acts of Comedy: UNLEASHED! stand up comedy show on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Famous Sports Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaksat 8PM.

Headlining the show will be Gayla Johnson who has appeared on B.E.T's "Comic View", "Funniest Female in California" Competition at Martini Blues in Huntington Beach, the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, North Hollywood's Ha Ha Café, the Ice House in Pasadena, the Improv on Melrose and many other comedy venues as far away as London, England. Gayla has shared the stage with "Last Comic Standing" winner Dat Phan and comedy's bad boy, Chris Rock.

"In addition to Gayla we are excited about bringing some fresh new faces to the comedy scene in a showcase that will definitely rock!" Brown, a veteran to the comedy scene originally from Hawaii announced. He has worked stages in Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Southern California. He has also produced his own brand of comedy in several "Comedy Luau" venues over several years in SoCal.

The Saturday "Random Acts of Comedy: UNLEASED! will also present local performers from Ventura; Crazy Randall, Shawn Jordan, Sara Willis and Greg Schimpff. Katsy Chappell, has been seen on national TV (NBC's "ER", "In Living Color"), and the big screen ( "True Lies"," Inspector Gadget"). She has been seen on comedy club stages in Hollywood, Los Angeles and the east coast. "Katsy is gonna bring her own special brand of comedy to the stage as the show's feature comic," Brown adds.

New owners of the club formerly known as "The Other Place" in Thousand Oaks are pleased to add comedy to their line up of events. "We have salsa nights, poker tournaments, pool tables and multi-screen television for sporting events," said club manager Tony Madoyan. "We are pleased to add this Saturday night comedy to our venue. Kamaka Brown also hosts an open mic on Wednesday nights for people who want to try their hand at comedy," Madoyan said.

Tickets for the 8PM show will be $20 (includes 2 drinks). "Our show will be during the three day Labor Day weekend and you won't have to drive into LA for comedy.
