Fern Vacca is recognized with Distinguished Toastmaster status

Ocean View Toastmasters Club celebrated the award of Distinguished Toastmaster status to its member Fern Vacca. Distinguished Toastmaster is the highest achievement level in Toastmasters International. In only four years of membership Fern earned the designations of Competent Communicator and Advanced Toastmaster Bronze, Silver and Gold. She also completed requirements for Competent Leader and Advanced Leader Silver. Fern has served as a Club Coach for the Santa Susana Speakers Toastmaster Club in Simi, guiding them to Select Distinguished status in only one year. She is Ocean View's first Distinguished Toastmaster. She has held several offices in Ocean View including president and has been the Area B-1 Governor working with five clubs in Ventura and Oxnard. Fern has a special interest in our youth and led a Toastmasters Youth Leadership program. In addition to her Toastmaster achievements Fern has been active in 4-H leadership for over 35 years. She received a 4-H State Lifetime Achievement Award. Fern is an outstanding leader in our community and has touched many lives with her dedication and helpfulness. Congratulations Fern!!! It's good to someone so deserving of the recognition. She taught my daughter how to speak -- years ago. She always goes the extra mile to teach.
