Legislators to give State of State talk
Assembly members Audra Strickland and Cameron Smyth will present their 2008 State of the State address at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15 before the Chamber of Commerce.
Smyth, a Republican from the 38th District, which includes much of Simi Valley, and Strickland, a Republican from the 37th District, which includes Moorpark and parts of Simi, will speak about how California is doing economically, organizers said.
"We are very excited to host this event and see it as a great opportunity for local businesses to learn firsthand how the economy is impacting the state and the trickle-down effect to the business community," said Karen Gabler, chair of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
A luncheon will be at Lost Canyons Golf Club, 3301 Lost Canyons Drive. Tickets are $25 for members and $55 for nonmembers.
Deadline to RSVP is Aug. 13. Call 526-2600 or visit http://www.simichamber.org.
