City to rename street after fallen officer

Simi Valley will rename one of its streets on Monday to honor a police officer who was killed in the line of duty there on Aug. 4, 1995.

Civic Center Way will be called Officer Michael Clark Memorial Parkway.

Clark was shot and killed while handling a "check on welfare" call.

The street is being renamed on the 13th anniversary of Clark's death.

The renaming ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. in front of the Simi Valley Police Station, 3901 Alamo St.

Call Sgt. Bill Lappin at 583-6993 for more information.

Anyone with an address on the street will hate it. New Stationery, change with creditors, etc. A real paid--especially for business owners. Been there, done that.

Critique:

Where is this street? Are there many businesses or homes along this street? Are they renaming the entire length of the street or only a portion? (A map would have been nice.)

It's annoying when an article, or a tv news blurb, leaves you with more questions than answers.

ex CPA, Sorry you had to experience such an awful incident. I'm sure Officer Clark, his family and the men and women of the Simi Valley Police Department didn't have to experience your pain. I like the fact that you compare Officer Clark's life and dedication to stationary and change of address with creditors. Do the citizens of Simi, and California for that matter, a favor and choke yourself. P.S. change your screen name to "IDIOT".

I can't believe it's been 13 years. Mike was a great guy and moved to Simi from the Devonshire division for a quieter, safer life for his young family. I will forever miss the face that alawys carried a smile. What a loss for everyone. I pray for the family.
