Man on probation held in weapon case

A 22-year-old man on probation was arrested in Ojai over the weekend on suspicion of possessing a deadly weapon after sheriff's deputies found him with a knife and homemade club, authorities said.

Deputies found the weapons after stopping Jonathan Mosqueda, an Ojai-area resident, for a traffic violation and conducting a probation search, sheriff's Capt. Dave Kenney said.

Mosqueda was booked into Ventura County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $20,000 bail.
