July's Salsa Festival selecting vendors

Salsa Festival organizers are seeking exhibitors who sell spicy foods, gourmet salsa and sauces, chili pepper souvenirs, hand-crafted jewelry, original art, pottery, garden décor, unique clothing and accessories to take part in this year's event.

The application deadline is May 15 to participate in the 15th annual event scheduled July 26-27 at Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard.

The two-day celebration of all things salsa — the food, music and dance — attracts an estimated 45,000 people.

Vendor applications are available online at http://www.oxnardsalsafestival.com or by calling 247-0197.

Presented by the Oxnard Downtowners, the Salsa Festival features the region's top salsa and Latin jazz bands, salsa dancing, vendor marketplace shopping, children's attractions, a salsa tasting tent, international foods and salsa recipe contests.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. Festival admission and parking are free.
