Description: A long and challenging par-5 greets players at River Ridge. It features a dogleg left. There are plenty of obstacles from tee to green, including out of bounds on the left off the tee. There are bunkers on both the left and right side of the fairway that can come into play off the tee. There is also another bunker near the green that must be accounted for on approach shots.
How to play it: Tee shot is from an elevated tee box, taking some of the distance off this hole. However, on many days this hole plays directly into the wind, making it play as long or longer than its actual distance. The tee shot is fairly wide open, but players must take into account the bunkers guarding both the left and right side of the fairway. OB protects left side for the drive and second shot. Aim right of the left bunker's edge off the tee. Most players can't get home in two on this hole. A strong tee shot and equally good second shot sets up a short approach shot. The deceptively long green slopes left to right. If played right you can make birdie, but a par is a great way to start here.
