1 injured in solo crash in Simi Valley

One person was transported to Simi Valley hospital with moderate injuries this morning following a solo rollover crash, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 8:10 a.m. on the 2200 block of Fitzgerald Road in Simi Valley, near Hillside Middle School.

When Ventura County firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident, they found one person trapped in the vehicle, said fire department spokesman Capt. Barry Parker.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the crash victim from the vehicle.

The victim was freed at 8:26 a.m., then transported to Simi Valley Hospital for treatment.
