Two hundred and fifty people, from age two to 80, came to paint their own masterpieces on the Museum of Ventura County's empty gallery walls on Sunday, April 20. Since the museum's 100 E. Main site is officially closed for major renovation construction, the museum invited the public to express their creativity where famous artists once hung . The museum expects to reopen in late 2009 with twice the space and an exciting new building. Meanwhile, they have temporarily relocated in a storefront at 89 S. California, in Ventura, continuing exhibits and programs there.

But for a few hours Sunday, penguins and sunsets, slogans, flowers, and declarations of love mixed together to create a beautiful collage across the gallery walls, the former location of the museum store, and one of the the hallways. Luckily, most brought cameras!
