Sisters arrested after drive-by shooting

Sheriff's deputies have arrested two sisters on suspicion of committing a drive-by shooting in El Rio, authorities said.

The shooting, which targeted a house in the 2500 block of Balboa Street in El Rio, was reported at 3:46 p.m. Sunday, according to Sheriff's Department officials.

Deputies investigated a report that the suspects were two women last seen driving in the 900 block of Walnut Drive, and they arrested sisters Janelle Mata, 23, and Naomi Mata, 22, on Walnut Drive about 25 minutes later.

Deputies found loaded weapons, including a shotgun, in the vehicle that the sisters were in, authorities said.

Both were booked into the county's pretrial detention facility on suspicion of possessing a concealed loaded firearm and a short-barrel shotgun and of receiving stolen property. Janelle Mata also was booked on suspicion of shooting at an occupied building. Naomi Mata and Janelle Mata were being held Monday in lieu of $25,000 and $60,000 bail, respectively.

So let me understand this "thisis", because El Rio is over run with gangbangers it makes it ok to drive around with loaded weapons and shoot at houses? That sounds like they are part of the problem rather than reacting to an climate they are only victims of.
