City hooked on revenue

A recent flier against Measure B said: "Thousand Oaks needs strong city revenue." The flier should have been more honest. It should have said: "Thousand Oaks is addicted to city revenue."

Like a drug addict who wants increasing amounts of a drug, the Thousand Oaks City Council keeps wanting more income. It is time to cure the city's financial addiction to increasing income by voting for Measure B.

I got a suggestion on how TO can increase their revenue by $100,000.00 per year....stop funding the day labor site for illegals. If this is an example of how they spend their money, there will never be enough.

You got that right, Hamskid! The fiscal irresponsbility of our T.O. City Council is astounding, and should not be rewarded with us taxpayers handing over to them even more of our hard-earned monies.

In addition to voting against Measure B, as recommended by Kirkland Gable, we T.O. citizens also need to vote against the two T.O. City Council members who will be running for re-election this year! It's time for "we the people" to do some electorial house cleaning of our City Council members. Beginning with ousting the two incumbents up for re-election this year and filling their seats with two fresh candidates who will represent the best interests of we citizens and our city.

In following the T.O. City Council over the past years and tracking their voting patterns, it's apparent that the only council member who is consistently on the side of the people is Claudia Bill-de la Pena. Unfortunately she is often out-voted by the majority of council members. We've got to get more people on our City Council like Ms. Bill-de la Pena, and this year's election is our chance to start doing just that!

Read what Kirkland Gable wrote again. He is voting for Measure B, not against it.

Oops... that was definitely my error! Thanks, Carefulnow. I meant to state my support in voting FOR Measure B (not against). Guess my fingers as they were typing got disconnected from my brain!
