Man robbed in Ventura

A Ventura man was robbed over the weekend by two men who asked for his help with a car problem, police said.

The robbery victim was leaving a store in the 300 block of East Main Street in Ventura about 2 a.m. Sunday when two men asked for his help with their vehicle, according to a prepared statement from the Ventura Police Department.

When the 39-year-old agreed and followed the men to a parking lot behind the store, they hit him and took his keys and wallet from his pants pocket, police said. He had minor injuries, police said.

Police did not find the robbers.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call Ventura police at 339-4394.

To give an anonymous tip, call Crime Stoppers at 385-TALK. Tipsters who give information that leads to an arrest could receive up to $1,000 cash.

Ventura Idaho? Who in their right mind would fall for that? There are no Good Samaritans, just Suckers and Criminals. If this happens to anyone, call the Police then AAA and let the chips fall where they may.

Hummmm. Something tells me that the victim may have followed the suspects to the rear of the building for other reasons.

I had a similar thing happen to me at our condo complex. A stranger approached me as I was parking my car, and asked for a jump. His vehicle was parked in the rear remote parking area, seldom used except by residents.
Sure, I told him...just let me go in for a moment to relieve myself.
Yeah, I was relieved to know that I had a .45 in my waistband, c---ed and locked.
Turns out the guy maybe really needed a jumpstart, or changed his mind!
Better safe than sorry. No harm, no foul.

I'm sorry for what happened to this guy.

I was confronted in the parking lot of Albertson's in Simi Valley today by a guy who looked to be in his early 20s. He gave me some bull story about his car breaking down and needing money to get a cab to get home to TO. Yeah right. Too bad the same guy confronted me w/ the same B.S. a few months ago. This is pretty common. I had a baby in my arms so I was a bit put off, but I just declined and went on my way. There was something clearly "off" about this guy.

Comments, you saw this twice and failed to call the police? How would you feel if you found out the next day he killed a woman for her money? This is the reason why these kinds of people are able to perpetuate their crimes, nobody bothers to pick up the phone. If you think or know something is wrong people, call the police, the life you save might not just be your own.
