Eagles Soccer Club Girls Run for New York!
The Camarillo Eagles Soccer Club Under-11 Girls team held a lively music-filled jog-a-thon on Sunday April 20th to raise money to help fund travel costs for their upcoming trip to New York, where they will be competing in the US Club Soccer Regional Championship. Team members raised over $3,000 to help get the squad to New York for the Memorial Day weekend tournament. The jog-a-thon was the 2nd big event in their fundraising drive, which has included collecting recyclables and running a snack bar during local State Cup games. The final big fundraising event will be a Wine Tasting held in Camarillo from 5-8 pm on Saturday May 3rd. Participants will be tasting fine boutique vintages as well as savory hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Ernest Romero of J. Wolf Catering. The event highlight will be a Silent Auction featuring an eclectic array of items which include weekend getaways, luxurious skin care products, wine gift baskets, autographed sports memorabilia, and Disneyland and sporting event tickets.
