Three arrested in robbery attempt

More from Conejo ValleyThree men have been arrested after an attempted robbery outside a Thousand Oaks apartment complex last week.
Sheriff's Department officials said two brothers, ages 22 and 24, were walking Tuesday evening in the rear parking lot of the Warwick Apartments, 850 Warwick Ave., when the men demanded the contents of their pockets and assaulted them.
Deputies arrested Miguel Mendez, 19, of Thousand Oaks later Tuesday evening at the complex. The next day, deputies arrested Albert Alvarez, 20, of Thousand Oaks, followed by the arrest of Julio Orellana, 25, of North Hollywood on Thursday.
All three are documented members of a Thousand Oaks criminal street gang, deputies said. The suspects remained in Ventura County Jail on Saturday after being booked on suspicion of attempted second-degree robbery, felony assault, street terrorism and battery.
Alvarez was being held in lieu of $160,000 bail. The other two men cannot post bail because of immigration violations, authorities said.

When will the insanity stop??? Two can't post bail for there being held on immigration holds translation there ILLEGALS! this must stop! We need to secure our borders and deport all illegal dirt bag gang members. Our politicians are so worried about the illegals rights but what about the rights of the citizens to be safe and secure from illegal street gang members?

I said it before and I will say it again. Send them back to Mexico. The guys need to do what it takes to be legal or stay home!!!! They are coming here and terrorizing our neighborhoods, to make a living instead of working.
I wouldn't mind some of my tax $$$ going to more control at the boarders. However, I do mind that my hard earned $$$ is going to defending them in court and holding them in our jails. Send them back!!!!
For those of you who are here and working making a decent living, this comment is not about you. I am just sick of hearing about gangs and robberies, then finding out these guys are either illegals, or these guys are repeat these crimes over and over again. This needs to stop...

Well if you are voting for a Demo this election, then the problem will get only worse. You will be contributing to the problem if you do. Check out Nancy Pelosi on her wanting more of them. I won't vote for people who want to help them out. And the Demo's are pandering to them for the election vote! Do you think Obama and Hillary aren't in bed with these people wanting open borders?

Did I read correctly that one of them was caught at the complex? So the idiot either lives there or has friends/family there. My goodness - isn't he a sharp one?!
I completely agree that we need stricter enforcement at our borders. I have no qualms saying it - if you can't come across the border legally then you don't belong here. I know many LEGAL Mexican nationals that are hard workers, who do the work not many American nationals would do, and send their money back home to support their family. We rarely hear about them, though.
I completely agree that our tax money should NOT be spent supporting illegals in our jails. Our jails are overflowing as it is.
This needs to stop and it needs to stop NOW!

burritos=are you saying it is ok for illegals to work, make money here and not pay taxes? and steal and terrorize people? Do you support this yourself? We are talking about gang bangers and robberies here not picking strawberries anyway.
I am sure we will have plenty of legals willing to pick berries anyway.

It's morally wrong for what the 3 robbers in this article did. Ship them back to where ever they came from. While the article didn't directly conflate illegals with crime committing gang bangers, it's obvious by reading the comment suggestion that this type of unintentional xenophobic reaction results whenever something like this happens.
Headline:
"Mr. Mexican illegal Gomez commits crime XYZ"
Reaction:
"SHIP all them Mexican back across the border!"
IMHO, doing what you can do to support your family without harming others is not immoral.
And I disagree, there are not enough willing legal americans in this country to pick all the fruit 6 months of the year. Raise the pay? There aren't enough americans able to afford 5 dollars a head of lettuce.
Solution:
Annex Mexico. It'd be easier than what we're trying to do in Iraq.

If American citizens are really frustrated and angry about the criminal element crossing our border? You need to do something about it, like millions of other patriots?
Americans are far from bigots, xenophobes or anything that smell of the race card. However we are a nation of laws, and unlike the 12 to 30 million aliens who invaded our shores, most of us citizens do not have the criminal mentality.
Immigrants are the epitome of what America great!Not illegal aliens who ignored the law of our sovereignty. Strong minded spirits that will fight for what they believe is right. The law is all the separates innocent citizens from the imported criminal element from other countries. Only enforcement of our immigration laws will rid us of the child violators, women rapists, gang bangers, robbers and murderers. Amongst the illegal aliens who have entered America, without the peoples permission the filth of the earth has come here too.
More than ever we need a federal law with teeth, to halt this foreign national occupation. Sheriff Joe is part of the vanguard that will use state enacted laws, his courage against insurmountable odds to reduce the illegal alien population. Our politicians are easy fodder when the race card is used against them, and they cringe in dark corners like frightened mice. But a new breed has risen in the ranks of true patriots like Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , Lou Dobbs (CNN), Governor Don Carcieri and strong minded lawmakers like Tommy Tancredo, Duncan Hunter are just to name a few. Their are men and women not intimidated by pro-illegal alien wimps like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Read and others who pander to the special interest lobby.
More than 10 million immigrants have arrived since year 2000; it is estimated that nearly 6 million are illegal. All told, the group of immigrants now account for 38 million at the moment according to the White House's own census bureau.
America cannot afford to enact another AMNESTY? The ramifications are unthinkable on each states economy? Taxpayers will have to support even more illegal immigrants as the word gets out and millions more will pour into our nation.
