Stagecoach Inn Museum Antiques Faire

Dave Pape

Buyers will find lots of Mothers' Day keepsakes when the Conejo Valley Historical Society holds its annual Antiques Faire Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stagecoach Inn Museum, 51 S. Ventu Park, Newbury Park CA 91320. The show and sale features antiques, art and collectibles, including silver, china, crystal and other tableware; jewelry and vintage clothing; kitchen items; toys; furniture; clocks and watches; books and primitives.

Camarillo antiques authority Rita Faulders will present a lecture on "Carnival Glass." An inexpensive pressed glass, Carnival glass is made into both functional and ornamental objects, always iridescent and found in a wide spectrum of colors. It has been produced from the early 20th century until now. Inspired by Tiffany and Steuben art glass, Fenton began producing decorative art glass in 1907. But it didn't sell well and was discounted, after which it was frequently used as carnival prizes and promotional giveaways.

Evaluations by knowledgeable experts are $5 per item, so bring those family treasures that you want to know more about!
