Preparing for Passover
Dana Rene Bowler / Star staff Rabbi Aryeh Lang of Chabad Jewish Center of Camarillo hosts a burning of the chametz before Passover at Fire Station 52 on Friday morning. On Thursday night, chametz, or leavened bread, is cleared out of Jewish homes. Kids use candles to find the chametz and feathers to sweep it into bags. The bags are burned the next morning. The community eats only matzo, or unleavened bread, during the eight days of Passover.
