Save Ojai Schools rally is scheduled

A Save Ojai Schools rally will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ojai Unified School District headquarters, 414 E. Ojai Ave.

Ojai Mayor Sue Horgan and Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett will be among the speakers.

There will also be food and entertainment.

The rally is to demonstrate to state legislators that education is a priority of their constituents, according to organizers, which include the Ojai Education Foundation and Ojai schools' parent-teacher associations and organizations.

The rally also starts a 60-day fundraising campaign to support Ojai public schools, as the school board considers cuts as a result of proposed state budget cuts to education.

For information, call 625-0508.
