Youth Sports Results: April 15
WRESTLING
The Simi Valley Vipers wrestled April 5 in Palmdale. Vipers' gold medals were won by Kyle Caudill, Tyler Dobbs, Nathan Rosales and Derek Thompson. Second-place finishes were Gage Jimenez, Tanner Sommer, Adam Mason, Tyler Howell and Scott Thompson. Brandon Baynes finished the day with a fourth-place finish. Gage Jimenez and Tanner Sommer set the tone when they came out aggressive and scored with opening-round pins. Dobbs then sealed the day with a dominating performance where he only gave up two points.
The Vipers competed this past weekend at Littlerock High. Jimenez and Sommer wrestled to silver medals. Sommer had nine wrestlers in his weight category. Tanner showed his toughness by outpointing his opponents and pinning two. Jimenez took second place in his age group and decided to test his skills with the older kids. Jimenez, 8, who had to wrestle athletes 4 years older than him, took a bronze medal in the higher age group. Dobbs, 7, also wrestled up an age division and lost his medal-round match by a point. Dobbs ended up finishing third in the higher age bracket and he took home the gold medal in his age group. Mason, 8, showed his toughness by posting a 2-1 record to bring home a silver medal. The Simi Valley Vipers are sponsored by the Simi Valley Police Officers Association. There is no fee, except wrestlers must obtain a USA Wrestling Card. Information: Bill Dobbs at 818-456-9737.

Ventura County League
Jacob Hisel had a game-high four goals and two assists in the 12-and-under division. Chas Henly had a couple of goals from the 2-meter position as well as three steals. Marton Toth topped off the scoring and Jonah Swigart had a career-high nine saves.
South Coast White 9, Santa Barbara 7
Lacey Anderson had one goal, two assists and four steals in the 12-and-under division. Nathan Cobasko had one goal and one steal. Reed Kaplan had one goal. Jack Kleinick had six saves in goal and two assists. Austin Kodama contibuted an assist and three steals. Mason Muir recorded three steals, two of which led to counter-attack goals. Taylor Stewart had one goal and Dominic Terrusa blocked two shots, recorded two goals and a steal.
South Coast White 8, Titans B 5
Whitney Stane scored two goals and had three steals in the 14-and-under Division I game. Michael Falzone added a goal, two steals and blocked a shot. Sean Mayer had four steals and two assists. Shea Craig had six steals. Zibe Deforest scored four goals. Rogelio Coronado scored a goal. Nick Vallejo, Coronado and Chandler Pacl had two steals. Deforest, Navarro and Abrianna Coronado had steals. Pacl had six saves,
South Coast Blue 7, SBWPC 5
R.J. Kashare and Jack Speidel each had a hat trick with three goals a piece. Kashare and Speidel also had four steals in the 14-and-under game. Chris Dilworth contributed the last of the scoring for South Coast with a backhand out of 2 meters and he also racked up three drawn ejections and Jack Elder lead the goalies with six saves in the cage as well as a couple one on no one blocks.
SOUTH COAST WHITE 11, TITANS 10
Brayden Casse scored eight goals and also added two steals in the 14-and-under Division II game. Michael Kusaba stole the ball five times and had two assists. Ryan Holder had a goal, three steals and an assist. Madison Lyon had three steals and an assist. For the Titans, Zach Davis led with four goals. J.D. Heard had three goals. Katelynn Womack had two goals. Garrett Gregg added a goal and two steals. Wes Gregg had three assists and two steals. Molly Winter had an assist and a steal. Heard had an assist and two steals. Davis and Womack each had a steal. Goalie David Macias had three saves.
TItans 9, Santa Barbara 8
Joe Yamamoto and Brendan Kirk had three goals apiece in the 14-and-under game. Zac Womack had two goals. Courtney Walters added a goal. Yamamoto had six steals. Womack had three steals and an assist. Walters had a steal and an assist. Abby McCardell had an assist. Jade Arner, Zak DeForest and Bess Grode each had a steal. Goalie Kyle Walthall had four saves.
South Coast 6, Titans 3
Holly Santos, R.C. Garcia and Katelynn Womack each had a goal in the 12-and-under loss. Trevor Edwards had two assists and two steals. Molly Winter had three steals. Santos had two steals. Garcia and Womack each added a steal. Goalie Jenner Wiggins had six saves and a steal. Winter had two saves and Womack had four.
Gold Coast 6, Titans 5
Katelynn Womack and Trevor Edwards each had two goals, an assist and a steal for the 12-and-under Titans. R.C. Garcia added a goal. Molly Winter had two assists and a steal. Troy Fukutomi had an assist and a steal. Holly Santos had two steals. Jenner Wiggins added a steal. Goalies Winter had three saves, Womack two saves and Wiggins one save.
Titans 9, Ventura County Development Team 6
Nick Ratekin had three goals for the 14-and-under Division I Titans. Brendan Kirk and Joe Yamamoto had two goals apiece. Courtney Walters and Zac Womack each added a goal. Bess Grode, Dustin Tebo, Zak DeForest and Walters each had an assist. Kirk and Yamamoto had three steals. Walters and Womack added a steal. Goalie Kyle Walthall had 13 saves with a penalty block.
BASKETBALL
Team Concept loses in championship
Team Concept lost to the Pacific Fury, 37-22, in the seventh- and eighth-grade division championship game of the Santa Barbara Spring Classic. Katherine Reaves had 10 points and nine rebounds. Carley Briggs had four points and five rebounds. Lindsay Neuner, Stacy Mann, Hannah Eicher, Shaunna Borenstein, Samantha Smooke, Alana Kemph and Nicole Mcamis combined for eight points and six rebounds.

Real California advances
The Real California U-14 Boys team advanced to the second round in the Cal South State Cup at Lancaster. Real California won its pool by defeating Claremont's Star B-14 Red, 3-1, Palmdale's AVSC Ambush, 1-0, and Garden Grove's CFC United, 2-1. Edwin Elizarraraz scored two goals and Thomas Dempsey added one against Claremont. Guillermo Che scored the winning goal in the shutout over Ambush. Elizarraraz scored with a penalty kick and a free kick in the win over Garden Grove.
Camarillo wins championship
Moorpark Apricot Jam Tournament
The Camarillo AYSO under-10 girls Tournament Team won the championship by outscoring the opposition, 13-2, in four games. Camarillo beat North Valley, 3-1, Moorpark, 1-0, and Five Cities, 5-0, to finish first in pool play. Camarillo won the championship by defeating Santa Barbara 4-1. Imani Zusman provided strong goalkeeping in the tournament. Goals were scored by Jackie Fiacco, Grace Churchill, Morgan Mondello and Karley Garcia. Alexa Spandrio, Courtney Apodaca, Emma Sickle and Grace Van Splinter all played well. Coaches are Roman Spandrio and Mike Mondello. Camarillo will play at the Oxnard Sports Festival on May 3-4. The Moorpark Apricot Jam feayured 104 teams from 32 AYS0 Rergions from 11 Areas ad three Sections. Games were played at Arroyo Vista Community Park.
FIELD HOCKEY
Red Devils host New Zealand team
Ventura County Red Devils, a junior division team training at Moorpark College, will host the Massey High team, from New Zealand, on April 24-26 at the Moorpark College complex. Match times will be 5:30 p.m. on the first two sessions and the final match will start at 2 p.m. on April 26. Attendance is free and the public is welcome. From today until April 22, the Massey players will compete against the Canadian Junior National Team in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The players represent United States Field Hockey and are involved in the junior division high performance training center team.
