Horse trailer stolen from nonprofit
Cindy Murphree very much wants a horse trailer stolen from Ojai last week returned to the horse shelter from which it was taken.
Murphree, a member of California Coastal Horse Rescue, said a $500 reward is being offered for the return of the white trailer, which has the word "Avenger" stenciled on its sides and front in big letters.
She said the four-wheel trailer, which has a license plate of 1XD1820, was stolen sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning from the nonprofit horse shelter at Meyer and Rice roads.
The trailer had bridles and helmets inside, and all are worth a combined value of $20,000, she said.
Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the trailer is urged to call the shelter at 444-6728 or the Ventura County Sheriff's Department at 654-9511.
