Simi Valley Family YMCA Names New Executive Director
Daniel Jaeger is the new executive director of the Simi Valley Family YMCA. Jaeger, who started his new job on March 17, is responsible for overseeing operations of the 25,000 square foot facility that serves more than 7,500 Simi Valley residents.
"Dan brings a well rounded base of experience and leadership to theposition of executive director," says Rick Politte, president and CEO of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, which includes the Simi Valley branch. "He is known for his community involvement and ability to grow others into leaders."
Jaeger was previously the district executive director of the YMCA in Greenville, South Carolina where was he responsible for providing leadership to two YMCA branches. He is familiar with Southern California, having been an associate executive director at the Santa Barbara Family YMCA. "Southern California has always felt like home for my wife and I," says Jaeger. "We are very happy to be back. Simi Valley is a beautiful city and everyone has been very supportive."
Jaeger sees the Simi Valley Family YMCA as playing an important role in the community. "We want to continue to grow with Simi Valley and provide the types of quality youth and adult programs that the residents expect from the Y."
Besides day-to-day operations of the Simi YMCA facility, Jaeger is also responsible for the operation of the Simi YMCA's childcare program that serves more than 500 preschool and elementary school-aged children at 12 state licensed sites, the Y Adventure Guides parent/child program serving more than 250 families and the summer day camp program with more than 200 children attending daily.
