Man arrested in stabbing incident
A Ventura man was arrested last night after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument, police said.
Kenneth Wagonis, 47, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed Zane Perry, 39, of Ventura, according to a prepared statement from the Ventura Police Department.
The stabbing occurred near the railroad tracks behind Channel Drive in Ventura, where both men were camping illegally.
The men, who had been drinking, were arguing about money when Wagonis allegedly stabbed Perry on the side of his face with a knife, police said.
Perry was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Wagonis was booked into Ventura County Jail, where he was being held this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.
