SANTA BARBARA

J. Michael Holliday expands firm

Santa Barbara resident J. Michael Holliday, founder of JM Holliday Associates, is expanding to provide full-service architecture, real estate development consulting, project management and client representation services.

JM Holliday Associates, founded in 1998, will continue to offer green building design and environmental consulting services to the real estate and design industry.

Holliday, who worked for 17 years as a senior architectural partner with Design-ARC Architects, is a board member with the Santa Barbara Regional Chamber of Commerce, member of the Santa Barbara Business Leadership Council, and is a board member with the UCSB Economic Forecast Committee.

In addition to his work within the Santa Barbara area, Holliday is working on projects in Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks, Orange County, Costa Rica and Hawaii.

VENTURA

City National Bank names vice president

Ventura resident Beth Lyons has been appointed vice president and manager of City National Bank's Ventura banking office.

Lyons will oversee the bank's financial products and services, including commercial, consumer and real estate loans; cash management, deposit, international banking and foreign exchange.

She also will manage the office's customer service and business development efforts.

With City National since 1992, Lyons most recently served as a financial sales manager at the Ventura banking office, where she earlier held financial sales officer, customer service officer and financial sales representative positions. Before joining City National, she worked at Ventura County National Bank and San Joaquin Valley-based Community National Bank.

City National Bank is the wholly owned subsidiary of City National Corp. (NYSE: CYN).

It is backed by $15.8 billion in total assets, and provides banking, investment and trust services through 62 offices, including 15 full-service regional centers, in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada and New York City.

Electricians pass state certification test

Ventura residents Eric Dahl and Bob Rose, employees at Denny's Electric & Home Services, have passed the California electrician certification test, which is mandatory for an electrician working for an electrical contractor.

The state examination tests the candidate's knowledge of grounding, safety, trade practices, motors, installations and calculations, among other areas.
