Clippers' Brand has cast removed
Los Angeles Clippers forward Elton Brand had the cast removed from his left leg and was fitted for a removable walking boot Tuesday, six weeks after he had surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles' tendon.
The Clippers said Brand will begin a rehabilitation program under the supervision of their training and medical staff. The program includes local therapy, cardiovascular work and a flexibility and strengthening program.
Brand is expected to wear the walking boot for six weeks before being reevaluated by Dr. Craig Morgan at Christiana Care's Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, Del.

Hingis advances at China Open
Martina Hingis advanced to the second round of the China Open at Beijing, beating Sun Tiantian of China 6-2, 6-3.
The former top-ranked player will next face Peng Shuai, who beat Chinese qualifier Xu Yi-Fan 6-1, 6-4.
OBITUARY
First Bills coach Ramsey, 87, dies
Garrard "Buster" Ramsey, the first coach of the Buffalo Bills, has died. He was 87.
Nephew Knox Wagner Ramsey Jr. said Ramsey died of pneumonia Sunday at a Chattanooga-area retirement center in Tennessee.
