Wells Fargo assists county's nonprofits

Wells Fargo presented $18,000 in unsolicited cash donations to nonprofit organizations in Channel Islands and Conejo Valley at its annual community support breakfast Sept. 13 at the Camarillo Ranch House.

Wells Fargo awarded 18 nonprofits with $1,000 contributions as part of the company's ongoing commitment to support the communities it serves.

Organizations that received donations included Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ventura County, El Centrito de la Colonia, Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, MANNA of Conejo Valley, Camarillo Hospice Corp., Oxnard Police Activities League, Channel Islands YMCA, Santa Susana Performing Arts Boosters and Simi Valley YMCA.

Chamber businesses to attend expo

The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce's Fall Business Expo will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the garden patio at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

Food will be provided. Admission is free.

Hilford honored as Million Dollar Booker

Hilford Moving and Storage of Ventura has been recognized by Allied Van Lines as a Million Dollar Booker for 2006.

It marks the second straight year that Hilford has earned the distinction for generating upward of $1 million in revenue for Allied, a Chicago-based corporation with more than 450 agent locations in North America.

Hilford, founded in 1928, specializes in residential, office and commercial moving. In addition to Allied Van Lines, Hilford is an agent for Interstate Worldwide Relocation.
