Police searching for suspected shoplifters

Ventura police are looking for two women suspected of stealing merchandise from a department store on Sunday.

Police said the women left Kohl's Department Store with an undisclosed amount of merchandise without paying for it.

One of the women was confronted outside the store, police said, but she resisted being detained.

Another woman drove up in a truck and picked up the first woman, then drove away.

Police said the first woman left some of the stolen merchandise and some personal property at the scene.

The vehicle is described as a black 2007 Chevy Silverado, with California license plate 8F25468.

Anyone with information on the incident should call Ventura police at 339-4394.

I hope they catch these two but I also hope Kohls will start to look at why this keeps happening to them. I have been in Kohls and watched two women and a little girl walk out with an entire cart full of stuff. When I ran to tell the store employees I was told it was Kohl's policy not to approach anyone after they left the store. They would not call police or do anything. Yet they keep merchandise by the door and the cashiers back inside the store. I called Kohls stores and offices and they do not see a reason to change their policy. The only time something is done to try and stop these thieves is when a citizen gets involved. Sad. They can't stay in business or keep down the prices.
