AGOURA HILLS

Tai chi classes for 50 and over announced

The Agoura Hills Department of Community Services announces Beginning and Intermediate Tai chi classes for those 50 and over. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays. The intermediate class will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and beginning class from 10 to 11 a.m. at Reyes Adobe Park, 30400 Rainbow Crest Drive.

The class is ongoing with a monthly fee of $29 or drop-in fee of $4 per class. Attendees must be registered participants and current members of the Senior Recreation Program.

Sign up for Mesquite and Stateline trip

The Senior Recreation Program will be going to Mesquite and Stateline. This overnight excursion is three nights and four days, all breakfasts and a lunch while on the Utah guided tour.

Dates are Sept. 25 through 28, departing from the Agoura Hills Recreation Center. Fees are $255 per person for single occupancy and $235 per person for double occupancy. Participants must be registered members of the Agoura Hills Senior Center, which is $12 for the year.

CAMARILLO

Managing arthritis will be topic of talk

Seniors can learn how to manage their arthritis by attending a talk, "Managing Arthritis," scheduled for Sept. 27 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at AlmaVia of Camarillo, 2500 Ponderosa Drive.

The talk will be led by Jenny Broberg, senior program director for the Arthritis Foundation. Broberg will give an overview of arthritis and emphasize how diet and exercise can play an important role in controlling the disease.

There will be refreshments after the presentation. For reservations, call 388-5277.

VENTURA

Ballroom dancing offered Mondays

The Ventura Poinsettia Dance Club features Monday night ballroom dancing with live music from the Dick Parent Trio or Wyatt Haupt Trio at the Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road.

Dancing begins at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 9:50 p.m. The cost is $7 for members and $8 for non-members. For more information, call 646-6109.
